Located in Casoli Town, province of Teramo, Aran Cucine is a green manufacturer focused and committed to the environment and the protection of social and ethical values of the forests with the FSC ® - C007444 (Forest Stewardship Council) ® certification.

Besides improving its own business management and contributing to the protection of the environment, the company has a responsible behavior and has concretely helped in a rational use of the world natural resources.

The FSC

The FSC Controlled Wood Standard requires the certificate holders that use Controlled Wood to mitigate the risk of using wood products from undesirable sources in FSC-labeled products. Mitigation must be implemented when the risk of sourcing from the following types of forests is great than 'low' (as assessed in FSC risk assessments):

 

  • Illegally harvested forests
  • Forests that were harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights
  • Forests where High Conservation Values are threatened by management activities
  • Natural forests that were converted to non-forest uses
  • Forests with genetically modified trees.

The doors of Stosa kitchens are Carb P2 certified. This means they are made from fully recycled and recyclable material with extremely low formaldehyde emission. Carb P2 certification clearly demonstrates Stosa’s commitment to protecting the environment and saving natural resources. Responsible design and innovation is inseparable from the selection of recycled and environmentally compatible raw materials.

VIVES ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

The general management of VIVES group, which activity is the production and marketing of floor and wall tiles with their respective complementary pieces, are aware of the importance of incorporate a compromise with the environment, establishing some statements to define the company environmental policy:

  • To consider the environmental aspects in the planning and development of our activities, establishing a continuous process of improvement of their environmental behavior.

SUSTAINABLE BUILDING

Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an international system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to promote sustainable and efficient construction. LEED is a voluntary certificate and can be applied to any building whether new or existing. LEED certifies buildings and not products.

 

Our products can help certify the sustainability of your project according to LEED by earning points in the following fields:

USE OF REGIONAL MATERIAL (CREDIT MR 5)

Our red biscuit wall and floor tiles can help you obtain points in this field where the project is located within a 800km radius of our factories in Alcora, Castellon, Spain.

HEAT ISLAND EFFECT (CREDIT SS 7.1)

Many of our products have a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) greater than 29, helping to minimize the Heat Island Effect and therefore they are particularly suited to be fixed in the exterior.

 

LOW EMITTING MATERIALS (CREDIT EQ 4.3)

Our products do not emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) due to the tiles being fired in very high temperatures helping to maintain a stable and healthy ambience in the interior.

RECYCLED CONTENT (CREDIT MR 4)

Pre-consumed recycled material is incorporated into the contents of our products according to ISO 14021.

SPANISH GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (GBCE)

 

VIVES is a member of the Spanish Green Building Council. This non-profit seeking organization shares the same fundamental objectives as the international World Green Building Council (WGBC). These objectives encompass the promotion of sustainable building by introducing international and homogeneous methods and tools to certify the sustainability of buildings, such as VERDE or LEED.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION

A system of eco-labelling, 3rd level according to the ISO14025 y ISO 21930 based on the analysis of the product life cycle. The information supplied by EPD is a vital tool to those who want to certify the sustainability of their construction projects via certifications such as VERDE or BREEAM allowing them to compare and select materials which take the environment into consideration.
